Ignorance Is Not Bliss

I write this blog for the ignorant, & bloody stupid.

For those who think it's clever to use the Nazi Salute, for those who think Enoch Powell had the right idea, for those who think that all Jews are Zionists/ racists.

For all of you who, whether you consider yourself left or right wing, you are ignorant, dumb, and dumber, and even dumber than that.

Nazi Salutes..... what the f**k are you thinking?!

Do you know what Hitler did?

Do you know what the Nazi's inflicted on these poor people?

Do you understand the misery that these people went through?

Do you understand the racism?

Do you understand the hatred?

If I am honest, I don't want to answer all these questions, I am British, with extremely strong Irish & Scottish roots.

As an English woman I know how much hatred is perpetuated at us for what our ancestors did, and guess what, we English throw that hatred back! Woop effing woop.....

Now imagine yourself a Jew/ Muslim/ Buddhist/ Catholic/ CofE/ Jesuit/ Sikh/ Hindu etc, and being persecuted.

Now out of all of us the Jewish community has the right of say over persecution, seeming as the majority of Muslim killings is from another Muslim.

Now as a proud English and British I ask a few questions:

1. If you're a Labour supporter, why is there such hatred for the Jewish Community?

2. If you're Conservative, how can you support the Tories who help the Saudi's, a country that would throw a gay man off of a building, stone a woman to death for being raped, allows the marriage of a grown man to a child?

3. Why aren't we, as a country despite party politics, doing more to fight racial, sexual, transexual or any discriminational prejudice?

I ask anyone, whether you're far far left, far far right, or far left, or far right, or somewhere in-between, I dare you to answer these three questions, without racism, without prejudice, without  offence........

Budget 2016 - Corbyn Fails Again

It's fair to say George Osborne's budget was very clever indeed, instead of taking the flack Jamie Oliver has taken the limelight off of the government over the Sugar Tax.

However, what is more sorrowful is how Corbyn's response has been largely glazed over.

The papers, and in general, people don't seem to care for his response.

I listened to LBC on the way home last night, and in that time, not one person spoke about Corbyn's response.

Instead those who thought it was unfair and could prove how it was going to effect them, did with gusto.

Others were talking about Jamie Oliver taking the limelight.

Whilst others mentioned how parts of the budget were going to help them.

Again, no one mentioned Corbyn's response, however the news did replay a small section of his response, and it was exactly how you;d imagined it.

So I ask, how bad of an opposition leader do you have to be when no one cares? When people are more interested in a TV Chef's response, rather then your own?

Even Ed Miliband held more courtship than that!

What's Happening To America?

What on earth is happening in America?

Hilary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Ted Cruz, & Donald Trump.

Not one of these people is good enough to run a bath let alone the most powerful country in the world.

Let's deal with Donald Trump, who is not only racist, and sexist, he's thick, possibly more thick than George W. Bush, and that's no mean feat!

He hates Mexicans, Muslims, & wants to build walls around America to keep people out.

Does he not know the history of America? That without immigration, he himself would not be an American?

Apparently not.

Then there's Hilary Clinton, who, for different reasons, is just as vile a Trump, but she's sly, and clever, let's face it without Hilary her husband would never have been President!

Ted Cruz... again a more clever version of Trump.

Bernie Sanders is basically Jeremy Corbyn's American counter part (except he hasn't been elected), policies that don't add up,  and uninspiring.

Isn't there any decent American politician out there?

Sadly the days of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher are over, no more sensible politics, instead politicians are more worried about their future careers, and their image.....

The Failings of Labour Slough Council

Today I met a young apprentice hairdresser.

Charming young man, with ambition, exactly what all political parties are looking for to show case.

However, he told me of a story today that saddened me beyond belied.

He has a young friend of only 16, who got his first job, also as an apprentice hairdresser, you'd think his mum would be proud of her son getting a job at such a young age, and having ambition himself.

Sadly not. Instead this mother tried with all her might to make sure her 16 year old lad didn't get the job, she even rang up the hairdressers to advise them not to give him the job.

However, the hairdressers told her where to go, and he was offered the job, so she chucked him out.

Apparently, through him getting an apprenticeship, she could lose her benefits, so instead of being proud of her son, she threw him out, left him destitute, homeless.

Thankfully, this young man has a very good friend who has a very good family, and they have taken him in.

Also, they contacted the council to let them know of where he was living, and to see if the council, a Labour council, could do anything to house this young man.

They've heard nothing.

Then a stroke of luck, a man was willing to let his flat out, if the council helped...... they declined any help, and again have done nothing to help this young man.

Where's the compassion? Where's the kindness? Where's the caring?

I said "Why don't you contact the Slough MP, Fiona Mactaggart? "

He has, they've heard nothing.

For me this story just sums Labour up perfectly.

They'd rather fund a feckless mother, who would chuck her own child out onto the streets for getting a job, for taking responsibility, for becoming an adult, and standing on his own two feet.

This is just one story, how many other young people who are trying to become responsible are being ignored?

How many other young people are being left on sofas?

So much for the "Kinder, gentler politics" Jeremy Corbyn tried to sell in the beginning.

The Problem With Catch Phrases

Last night I watched This Week, and my old favourite Owen Jones was on talking about the immigration crisis we are currently seeing.

He fought his corner gallantly against the political broadcaster Andrew Neil, however he used the old catch phrase, "they are human, much like us."

For me, this catch phrase is, ironically, dehumanising, and derogatory.

Firstly, either you think those who don't agree with your solution are dumb and haven't realised these people are human.

Secondly, again for me, dehumanises the people who are either running from conflict, the fact that you think this needs to be pointed out almost takes the shine away from the rest of the argument.

Other catch phrases that are now debunked because of over-use:

"Hard-working families." David Cameron's favourite.

"Tory Scum." Something the left love to shout during a protest or strike, which most Tories find rather amusing than hurtful, or damning.

"I have a question..." Jeremy Corbyn's weekly phrase during Prime Ministers Questions, which once held an air of uncertainty, but now it's more of a joke that even his own Shadow Cabinet members have used as jokes.

So please, let's stop with the catch phrases, and concentrate on the argument.
