Ed Miliband's 2014 Conference Speech

Let's face it Ed Miliband's speech was rather boring, and depressing.

If you were watching abroad, you'd have wondered why immigrants fight to get over here so much, he made Britain sound like an open prison.

And things only got worse for Miliband, he forgot half his speech, perhaps parading around the stage trying look cool, and "in touch" isn't the best way to remember your lines, or look like a true statesman.

Sadly for Ed, it was fairly obvious he'd forgotten a large part of it:

"One vote at a time. I said to her “how are you voting?” she said “I haven’t decided yet.”
Turned out her name was Josephine. She worked as a cleaner in the building."
Or my other favourite, particularly, slow moment:
"You know, the other day I was in the park. I was actually trying to work on my speech, believe it or not, and I wasn’t getting anywhere, so I went to the park and there were two young women who were in the park and they seemed excited to see me and they came over. "

We gathered you went to the park the first time you said it. So not only was it a boring speech, it was a patronising.

According to Ed, the Scot's are very undecided people, despite the NO campaign winning by a larger margin than anyone had polled or predicted.

Also that everybody, unless you're a millionaire, is extremely poor, living on the breadline, fir instance:

"Like a young woman called Xiomara who works in a pub near where I live.

She lives at the opposite end of the country from Josephine. She’s separated by at least a generation. But they share a common experience. Xiomara couldn’t afford to go to college. So she got a job in the pub kitchen nearby, washing dishes. She’s worked incredibly hard and she’s worked her way up to be one of the chefs.

But like for Josephine, life by Xiomara is incredibly tough. And by the way, she thinks politics is rubbish. And let’s not pretend we don’t hear that a lot on the doorstep. What does she see in politics? She sees drift. She doesn’t think we can solve her problems, now we’ve got to prove her wrong. And it’s not just that people like Xiomara and Josephine are struggling with the problems of today and millions of other people."

My favourite line "She thinks politics is rubbish." Yes Ed, she does, because leaders like you are giving the most boring, uninspiring speeches every written.

He then went all 'New Labour' on us, repeating his word of the moment three times: "Together, together, together." But unlike Blair's original repeat, it sounded like, ironically, the advert for a loan company.

He also went into stereotyping mode, apparently anyone who is supporter, or voter for the Tories are:

"gold mining, luxury hotel owning, Putin award winning, Russian oligarch, and you have got a £160,000 to spare to bid in an auction, you won’t be on your own; you will be on tennis court playing doubles, with David Cameron."
Why wasn't I told this earlier?! If only I knew I was a gold mining, luxury hotel owning, Putin award winning, Russian oligarch, who's got £160,000 to spare to bid in an auction, playing tennis doubles with David Cameron!!!

But my favourite of the whole speech was his, at least passionate, standing up bid:

"That’s why I stood up to Rupert Murdoch over phone hacking."

Is standing up to Rupert Murdoch being pictured with The Sun three times? No Ed, no it isn'tand by my reckoning, it was the last Labour government, which he was Energy Minister, that turned a blind eye to the phone hacking scandal.

"That’s why I stood up to the banks over bonuses. That’s why I stood up to the payday lenders over their exploitation of the poorest people in our country. That’s why I stood up to the energy companies over their profits and prices"

Can someone please tell me when he stood up banks, and when he says he stood up to the payday lenders, how? By stealing their slogan of 'together'? His claim of standing up to the energy companies is laughable, as when he was energy minister, prices rocketed, because of his green levy tax, and most recently they rocketed when he 'promised' to cap prices, so thanks Ed, for standing up to these people…

So all in all for me, Ed's speech was funny, for all the wrong reasons, boring, predictable, and patronising.

Labour Will Lose The Next Year

Ed Miliband is finished, he is in so many difficult situations that aren't disappearing, such as:

1. Rotherham, recently came to light that over 1,400 children had been sexually groomed from 1997 until 2013.

Turns out Rotherham council turned a blind eye towards the abused children as the abusers were from ethnic minority backgrounds, and didn't want to be seen as being racist, ahhhh....

(Here is an independent inquiry into the Rotherham abuse http://www.rotherham.gov.uk/downloads/file/1407/independent_inquiry_cse_in_rotherham )

2. New Labour, people haven't forgotten the economic mess the last government plunged us into, in fact, as much as Ed Miliband tries to distance himself, New Labour is lurking in the background, waiting to make another appearance.

3. English Votes for English Laws, is a no go area for Labour, especially as England is predominantly a centre-right country. Of course they will oppose this.

4. EU referendum, people aren't happy with how the EU are treating us here in Britain, and we want a say, however Ed Miliband is acting deaf and dumb, and our calls for a say in the way our country is being treated is falling on deaf ears, only David Cameron is offering us a say.

In fact, Labour were offered to set a quota in the first seven years of the EU, but decided against it as they thought only 20,000 immigrants would be coming over, how naive.

5. Benefit fraud was hug under the last Labour government, over £1 billion was lost due to fraud. However, you ask any person who considers themselves left of centre, and this lost money is no big deal, I'm not sure the families who genuinely need their benefits would feel the same.

6. Overspending, a dogma that has followed Labour since the very beginning, Watching Labour spend, is like watching a 16 year old girl being given a credit card to spend, then looking shocked when it's been blocked, and now needs paying off.

If Labour want to prove they truly are the "people's party", and that they've learnt lessons from the past, get a back bone and give us a say in what happens to our country, and stop spending so much, when have you ever heard of someone becoming rich through overspending?

A Few Questions For Alex Salmond

I have a few questions for Mr Salmond, if the Scottish people vote for independence.

Westminster subsidises roughly £10 billion a year to Scotland, so my first question is:

  1. How will Scotland manage make that much revenue?
Yes Scotland have the North Sea Oil, but you can't rely on just one industry, so my second question is:

     2.  What other industries will Scotland invest in?

With the generous subsidy from Westminster gone, which allows Scottish students go to university for free, my third question is:

     3.  Will Scotland have to introduce the tuition fee?

So, for all you Scots who are going to vote very soon, please ask yourselves these questions, as they will make a great impact on your life, should you vote for independence.

Rotherham: All Involved Need To Be Prosecuted

If the Rotherham police, council, and other authorities think that being scared of a bunch of child rapists pulling the race card, what hope have we got for our future?

This is, whether we like it or not PC gone wrong.

Whether you're an English Christian, or a Pakistani Muslim, if you are raping children, your ethnicity, and religion will no, and should not give you a get out of jail free card.

Nor should those who are working within the local authorities be more scared, or less scared by someone's ethnicity, and religion.

If you know that someone is raping children, or in this case, know of a gang who have raped 1,400 children, and do nothing about it, you are as guilty as the men performing the atrocities on these children, and deserve as a bad of a punishment as them.

Labour claims to stand for equality, I'm pretty sure they would have stopped it had it been a group of white English men who were committing these horrendous crimes, so why not show how you believe in equality, and stop it when it's a bunch of perverted Pakistani men?

When people allow these atrocities to be swept under the carpet, it doesn't help the already large prejudice against Pakistani's/ Muslims, creating more victims.

This is Labour largest problem, they don't tackle problems head on, instead they try to save face by sweeping it under the carpet, pretending it isn't happening.

All involved need to be prosecuted equally, as they are all equally guilty of committing, or helped in committing appalling crimes.

Depression

Another sad passing from the entertainment world today. Robin Williams, a great, fantastic, magical actor, comedian, and gentleman.

It is widely known that Robin Williams suffered from depression, alcoholism, and drug abuse, but the sad truth is, he obviously felt as if there was nothing that could save him, and help him.

That's the problem with depression, it overtakes your mind in the most awful way.

Like many others out there I have suffered from depression, and used to drink myself into a stupor. At the age of 17 I could drink 6 cans of 6% cider a night, go to bed at 2am, and wake up for 6am and get to work.

When I look back now, it terrifies me how I never caused an accident on the way to work.

Alcohol, along with the depression overtakes everything, it's like being addicted to cigarettes, you're constantly thinking about when you can have another one.

People often used to say "What about your mum? Your dad? Doesn't it bother you to see them so upset about you?"

Well yes, it does, but doesn't help, instead it fuels the depression, which fuels your need for alcohol to forget about it.

It's a vicious cycle, one that seems to never slow down, just speed up.

I was lucky enough to have my mother beside me, basically kicking me into touch! Sometimes a bit of tough love is what you need. Other times it's just being listened too, some just want to be left alone.

Depression sufferers are often like Robin Williams. Hilarious, none of my friends believed me when I told them how I felt, I was always the happy go lucky friend, the one people turned to for a laugh.

Some of my friends still don't believe me. Which is fine, as I am lucky enough to have gotten over the worst, but it never leaves you, even now I have bouts of feeling down, all my family can do is wait for me to get out of it.

Those who suffer from depression need more support. I didn't know who I could turn to professionally, I know many others also have felt the same.

If there's one thing to come out of Robin Williams' sad passing, I hope it gives hope, and help to those who feel they have no where to go.

Hypocrisy from the Left.... Again!

The horrors that the Palestinian people are going through is unimaginable.

Saturday saw another march, with notable lefties like Owen Jones, and Seamus Milne speaking in 'solidarity' with the Palestinian people.

Not that the march actually helped the people of Palestine in anyway, in fact majority of Palestinians probably didn't even realise there was a march in sunny, safe London.

But what about the Iraqi people, who are being buried alive, decapitated, shot, and starved to death, purely because of their religion.

That's a march I would join, that's a march I would be proud to show some 'solidarity' for the Iraqi people.

Until those who oppose Israel's threat, show their disgust, and organise a march against ISIS too, I will never take them seriously.

When Baroness Warsi resigned because she doesn't think that the Tories are being consistant enough with their anti slogans, I lost all respect for her. Where is her consistancy of disgust at ISIS? Where's her words of comfort for those who are living in the mountains because they are being chased from their homes?

Owen Jones today wrote in his column for the Guardian, that anti-Jewish hatred is on the rise. Well Owen, when you, and others, show your equal disgust at Hamas firing weapons from hospitals, and schools (weapons they aren't trained to use), then maybe the hatred for the Jewish community wouldn't rising as fast.

When you show your equal disgust at ISIS, and go on march showing your solidarity for the Christians who are being buried alive, decapitated, and starved, then maybe the Jewish community wouldn't be being singled out.

Until those who do have the media platform to voice their equal disgust at ISIS, the anti-Semite will only grow.

Ed Miliband: From The Leader Of The Opposition

A lot of those on the left are trying to make out Miliband's stupid, and unfeeling note on his wreath remembering World War One, was not on purpose, and a political issue should not be made of this.

Of course it was not done on purpose, he might be thick, but he's not heartless.

But what if he was our Prime Minister, can you imagine how embarrassing it would be, if you saw that all our Prime Minister, or his team, could be bothered to put on a wreath marking the centenary anniversary of the Great War was : From the Prime Minister

We'd all be ashamed and angry, and quite rightly so.

Ed Miliband, and his team, knew this day was coming, in fact we all knew this day was coming! The excuse that he didn't have time is pathetic and insulting.

Ed needs to get a new team, and start growing a back bone.

It's not exactly a great advert for an up and coming election; "He can't organise a note on a wreath, how on earth will he be able to organise our country?!"Was a tweet I read after they saw his, or his teams, note.

Ed Miliband is becoming a parody, not even a funny one at that.

He needs to stop worrying about his image, and taking selfies with Lily Allen, and Joey Essex, and start concentrating on what matters, and remembering those who died for our liberty is one of them!
